Southern Utahs Hobie Call Qualifies For The Marathon Olympic Trials Posted: Sep 24, 2007

Call destroys course record

Hobie Call was in town a year ago when Kenyan George Towett took down his course record at the NordicTrack Top of Utah Marathon.

Needless to say, Call — who placed third a year ago — wasn’t overly excited when Towett covered the 26.2-mile course in 2 hours, 20 minutes, 2 seconds, which was more than five minutes faster than the standard Call established in 2002.

Utah Summer Games 10k Posted: Jun 23, 2007

Utah Summer Games 10k - June 15, 2007 - Holy Zooming Batman! The USG 10K was quite the PR setter for most of the club. The downhill course started up Cedar Canyon just outside of Cedar City, UT and came down to the park in the middle of town.  After the gun went off, it was amazing to see how many guys took off.  The leaders were all well under 5 min pace for most of the race.   Once again the club did really well and its exciting to see everyone improving as we progress into summer.

Hurricane Half Marathon 2007 Posted: Jun 23, 2007

The Hurricane or "Hurricin" Half  Marathon lived up to its old slogan once again "Shes Fast But She Aint Easy".  The race starts just a few miles outside of Zions Canyon Park near the town of Virgin. After about 5 miles of climbing and a total of 8 miles you drop down in the the anti-UN zone of La Verkin, UT. The drop down is about 2 miles long and makes you feel like your falling out of an airplane. Serious elevation drop. After winding running through a quite neighborhood in La Verkin you come back out on the main road and head back up into Hurricane and back to the High School track finish line.&n. . .Complete Article

Top Utah Finishers At Boston 2007 Posted: Jun 23, 2007

Boston Marathon local finishers

      Clyde Behunin, 28, of St. George, finished 98th overall at Monday s Boston Marathon with a time of 2:37:52. Taylorsville s Nicole Hugie, 22, was the top finisher among Utah women with a time of 3:15:24 (2,622nd overall).

Utah to Arizona 10k - April 28, 2007 - The out and back race started out on River Rd by the Blue Bunning Ice Cream Plant. About .5 miles of the race was on gravel and it was about .3 miles too long.
