Hurricane Half Marathon 2007

The Hurricane or "Hurricin" Half  Marathon lived up to its old slogan once again "Shes Fast But She Aint Easy".  The race starts just a few miles outside of Zions Canyon Park near the town of Virgin. After about 5 miles of climbing and a total of 8 miles you drop down in the the anti-UN zone of La Verkin, UT. The drop down is about 2 miles long and makes you feel like your falling out of an airplane. Serious elevation drop. After winding running through a quite neighborhood in La Verkin you come back out on the main road and head back up into Hurricane and back to the High School track finish line.
The race is really well organized, with plenty of food and massages to go around.  They also run a 5K as well.
