Utah Summer Games 10K Results
RESULTS FROM THE 10K ON DAY EIGHT OF THE UTAH SUMMER GAMES
CEDAR CITY - June 15 - Joseph Wilson of North Ogden and David Holt of Washington were the first two runners to cross the finish line of the 10k run at the Utah Summer Games and each broke the record in their given age group.
Wilson s time of 30:21.3 shattered the old 30-34 age group mark of 31:54 set by Ken Carlson of Washington in 1999.
Holt s time of 31:00.6 was also well ahead of the previous record in the 25-29 age group set by Kyle Harris in 1993.
On the women s side the first and third-place finish set new records on the Utah Summer Games books.
Gold medal-winner Ruth Hilton broke the all-time record set by Caroline Owen in 1993 (37:11) with her finish of 36:53.7.
Brenda Lowry s 41:19.7 third-place finish broke the women s 35-39 age group record of Susan Hodson set in 1993 with a finishing time of 41:21.
Christina Robinson s finish of 47:30.3 in the women s Clydesdale run was the final record set during the race, eclipsing the previous record of 53:44.2 set by Wendy Clymore of St. George in 2005.
